Fic: Speaking of which (Drabble, SGA, gen)
Title: Speaking of which...
Rating: Gen, slightly foolish

Summary: The one thing that still worries John
A/N: A drabble taken from a story I might be writing that's ended up being Teyla's pov, so this doesn't fit any more. Except the story doesn't really have a story, so it might just be a series of drabbles (which I'll tag with 'common tongue'). Anyway, it worries me, too, and was inspired by: "I don't know what that means" "It's his name."
Speaking of which...
The one thing that still worried John (more often than the life-sucking alien vampires, if not quite on the same level) was that everyone spoke English. Even the life-sucking alien vampires spoke English. He'd be the first to admit that he knew nothing about the way language develops, but he couldn't help but think it a little off. He had a sneaking suspicion that he'd missed some crucial briefing, but it was too late, now, to go asking for an explanation.
Not that he wasn't grateful. It made it easier to tell when they were being threatened.
I know there's a more-or-less official explanation, but it's never been explicitly stated, and why doesn't it work on Czech?
